As Russia celebrates victory day, on behalf of Americans, you’re welcome
May 7, 2025 15:14Yes, we provided weapons.
But it is also important to remember the USSR lost 24 million people in WW II. The US? Less than 500,000 Americans were killed in WW II.
Not cool to denigrate the tens of millions of Russian military and civilians who died fighting the Germans- even if a huge portion was due to Stalin's incompetence.
Please leave the smug demands for "thank you" to Vance.
Now tell us how many Russians died fighting a war the US avoided for two years. Even though most Americans think they won the European war, the fact is they were only 2/5's the forces that landed on D day, and 80% of German forces and equipment were destroyed on the eastern front by the Russians.
So many of you think the USSR and Russia are the same thing. Aside from your American exceptionalism, your Russophobia is showing.
@adamkinzinger.bsky.social here sounding like JD Vance.
This is some “you’d be speaking German without us” bs.
and, oddly, during that time, the USSR wouldn't let US personnel in, only hardware.
it's almost like they were hiding something.
Over what time frame?
Any sane American would provide the USSR with what they did to avoid what those citizens paid. The human losses are beyond what human brains can even conceptualize.
People > stuff
My dad was on the first Allied mission allowed to land in the Soviet Union in order to target sites in Eastern Europe. The air base was Poltava, Ukraine actually.
He adored the Ukrainians. He despised the Soviets, who were so paranoid they did not tell the Americans about D-Day until days after.

Has Trump demanded repayment from Putin as he did from Zelenskyy?
Damn shame our country didn't take the advice of generals in 1945, as to dealing with Russia. If we had, Russia wouldn't be a problem anymore. Very short sighted to trust Hitler's former ally 😑
The story of the US ferrying aircraft to Barrow, Alaska for Russians to take back to Europe is an incredible chapter of America and Canada at war. The Yukon’s littered with wrecks that didn’t quite make it.
Got their hands caught in the cookie jar, did they? Fuck this motherfucking country that I have no choice to live in!
When are we getting our loans back from Russia and how much?
Yes, true (and it is important to remember all the facts) but it was largely the Soviets, for all their human rights abuses, that stopped, and died trying to stop, the Germans. Current petro state gangsters can’t claim any of valor.
Did they even say, "Thank you?"
Have they even said thank you?
Now do one of American companies outfitting Nazi Germany.
Oh wait, that goes against your narrative.
I must have missed Putin saying 'thank you'.
We liberated part of Europe, we rewarded Russia for invading and subjugating the rest. That was our mistake. We are paying for it now. We armed Russia we armed China we armed Iraq and fought them later too. We armed the Taliban who armed the terrorists blamed by India who we armed to attack Pakistan
15 million pairs of army boots,
Telling myself this everyday is not working....
Today
I don't have to fall apart
I don't have to be afraid
I don't have to let the damage consume me
Just not....
The Soviets loved our Studebaker deuce-and-a-half trucks and Bell P-39s.
They would all be speaking German if not for Lend-lease.
They didn't even say thank you!
Now, we would like all of that materiel returned. To make it easy, you can just drop it off in Ukraine. We'll pick it up later.
Rape, pillage, steal, lie: the soviet way!
No worry before and during the war Ford and other american company, openly helped the nazi, Ford for the fuel to invade France and Belgium and bombing Egland, IBM for the concentration camp. Luckly none were condamned at Nuremberg trial.
What's a couple dollars when you lose 26,000,000. Go fuck yourself
Lend lease aside, what they lost and what they accomplished in WWII, despite idiotic leadership, were both remarkable.
WHEN?!?
Hmmm. If Ike would have listened to Patton we would not be in this position.
Just out of curiosity, how much of this was approved and sent while you were a Congressman?
Meanwhile all foreign aid for civilians via USAID is gone. An American friend in Zambia said people there are starting to starve. The summer crops failed due to drought and now no USAID. Soon there will be widespread humanitarian crises.
OPINION:
It seems to have been a mistake for 🇺🇸 to bail out 🇷🇺 and 🇨🇳.
Too bad someone can't go back in time and warn 🇺🇸 that both of those countries would turn around, and betray the fuck out of us.
At the time, allies were more than happy to supply the Soviet Union so long as they did 75% of the fighting and dying. I thought you were smarter than this, Kinzinger. Have a happy pissing contest with history.
And still it was the soviets who got the Nazis. It had soldiers of all nationalities in the USSR, not only Russians. How many American soldiers died fighting the Nazis in Europe compared to that, again?
Thank you, Adam. So many forget this. I didn't realize the extent of it myself. Thank you for that post.
Too bad FDR didn't have JD by his side nagging Stalin like a nasty grandma.
"You should be grateful to Pres. Roosevelt!"
Yet, US didn’t sent even one fighter jet to Ukraine. Yes, Soviet dictatorship was more precious for them then democracy trying to break free from this dictatorship.
🇺🇦🇺🇦💪💪
As a European, I can only reply with: 😢
We now have to build the EU.
Up to 1991, the USA & ruZZia dominated & separated us.
Luckily, we de-armed to unite.
Now we have to re-arm again, this time united.
Go fuck yourself, ruZZia. You are a dying empire.
Go fuck yourself, USA. You became idiocracy.

Wonder when Drumpf will go after them to insist they pay the USA back…
Wonder if anyone else had to pay as per the Marshall Plan?
Yet still in massive debt…
In hind sight; we should have abandoned them as they only paid us back within a grain deal a small portion of what we supplied and that took till 1972. We wrote off most of it.
And worse they don’t appreciate it & threaten to kill is with nukes.
Russia can go to hell.
A number of people in this thread missed your point Adam. I got it. Please explain further.
What's so proud about sponsoring a totalitarian regime? 🤔
Lend-Lease during WWII made the U.S. the largest creditor in the world.
I look forward to Trump forcing them to sign over the mineral rights to their land in exchange for our assistance.
Canada is a great neighbour - imagine having a Russia on your USA border how much do you think your defense spending would be to protect that border
When was this???
1900 locomotives??
How far back into history are we looking here, Adam? Were either one of us alive when these “transactions” took place?
Why? WTF
DT wants to borrow them back for his party.
Is Russia paying for it in rare earth minerals, gold and diamonds?
You forgot to include the Oval Office that was handed to putin.
Once again the Republican shows his true colors.
They never even said "thank you"... or whatever the Russian equivalent is
Okay, now compare each of these to Soviet domestic production.
Thanks for this reminder
That’s some of the shit they using to fight Ukraine now lol.
Fck!
Great.
😵💫
Let’s just send trump & family & sycophants there .. from now on.
Our tax dollars at work?Do you have a side-by-side for what we provide Ukraine?
Where’s the 24/7 chants against this ??!?!
Now we have their man in the White House.
But did they say thank you?
What about the suit?
On behalf of the 26,000,000 Soviets who died, you're welcome.
It's disappointing that you're incapable of disassociating present-day Russia from the former Soviet Union.
How much of this was approved while you were in Office?
Yea or Ney, Adam?
And they didn't always say Thank you, either....they just wanted MORE and griped they were being short-changed.
4% of the production value.
Did they even say thank you?
US is prolonging the war by supplying Russia with armory to fight Ukraine.
I bet they are wishing they had it now
1941-1945. There were millions of Russian lives lost in WWll. I don’t care how they choose to memorialize that.
27 million dead Soviets, Adam, say thank you.
And how much did they charge them for this? Seems a bit of wasted effort now that Russia has a Nazi asset in the white house
We would have lost without them.
[This post was deleted]
We also sent two of these. ONLY country EVER
The United States is the only country to have used nuclear weapons in war, during the final days of World War II, against Japan.
Have they paid us back yet?
And they gave 20 million lives
To hear Putin's Russia tell the story of the 2nd World War one would come away with the idea that Russia won the war single handedly without any mention of Russia beginning the war on the side of Nazi Germany.
😖
Wow that’s a lot of stuff-
Let's step the fuck back for a sec and repeat after me: "the ALLIES won WWII". Allies. Every contribution was valuable. This equating of 1940s USSR with modern-day ruzzia is idiotic and unhelpful.
USA: you're welcome on behalf of Europe and the rest of the world. Sit the f down.
Yup!
Back when ‘merica was America.
That’s about $11.3Billion worth of aid… or ~*$225Billion* in today’s money.
Fuck all this "you're welcome" shit. The US has never done anything they didn't feel was in their best interest.
😵💫😵💫😵💫
Start of USAID
Still waiting for the reimbursement check for 3/4ths of this material....
?
I've never seen a breakdown of the material support the US gave Stalin. The quantities are quite staggering. But let us not forget though that keeping the Soviets in the fight against Hitler saved countless American lives later on. Russia lost tens of millions of people battling the Wehrmacht.
