- Yeah. It only works if they uphold their oaths rather than sell out, but the vast majority just sold out instead.

View full threadIt's amazing how this narrative Trump is pushing "short term pain for long term gain" seems to be resonating with his followers. But, as you pointed out, a lot of Dem policies take decades to see tangible gains, often after a new administration takes over, and MAGA voters don't put 2+2 together.
- A lot of why the dem policies take so long is that they give so many concessions to the republicans to appease them without getting anything in return. That's the "negotiation" that Biden is supposedly renowned for: doormat.
- I also don't understand why GOP seems to be able to stop the Dem agenda cold when they're the minority party. McConnell was a fkn WALL. But turn the tables and Dems are like "we're the minority party there's nothing we can do 🤷♂️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏻🌈✌️🕊️🩷" Gee I dunno take a page out of Mitch's book and OBSTRUCT.
- Because the democraps are weak, stupid, incompetent, and largely useless idiots. They WANT to be obstructed so that they can get votes by not being republican but take advantage of the legalized bribery and inside trading.
- The reality is that the democraps play right into it. Biden's entire agenda died on the filibuster in his first six months, and tanked his approval rating. Then when he got stuff through congress and the economy started recovering it was slow enough for the repugs to twist it in their favor..
- ... and then claim credit for it in the beginning of the new idiot's term, just like they did following Obama, only that took eight years rather than four.
- I was just listening to TNR's Daily Blast podcast this morning and they were discussing how in rural America, any time anything bad happens they just tend to reflexively blame Democrats. If anything positive happens they reflexively credit Trump/GOP.
- That's partly due to democraps being very bad at messaging. It's also a sign of how skewed the electoral system is; rural voters are a small population by nature... Yet they determine which party dominates the federal government, and they are easy to keep uneducated.
- Not calling for impeachment is telling people you believe he has not committed an impeachable offense.
- [Not loaded yet]
- They can. It's called a discharge petition if I remember correctly. It doesn't guarantee anything beyond a vote, but every time the Dems bring up an impeachment vote they force the repugnants to go on record when they oppose it.
- Buckle up. I suspect this is going to be a shit show
