I've said it before, but the main advantage of working in an ecclesiastical environment is that really dull ordinary work stories are exactly 100,000x funnier if you can replace "colleague" with "nun", "line-manager" with "chaplain", "regional sales manager" with "suffragan bishop" etc.
I just think it’s hilarious that people went to college with the Pope. “What’s Ken up to these days? Partner at a law firm outside Pittsburgh, that’s nice. And Bob? Oh, he’s the Pope.”
