- Last week I gave a 45m research talk with no slides and none of my work. The theme was loosely tied things I don't think we understand about the brain but that I find exciting and would love to understand. It was very anxiety inducing not to have the crutch of slides and results, but good I think.

- Starmer and Labour come to power because everyone hates the Tories. They continue to do the same thing as the Tories, and follow Reform talking points on immigration. Reform wins overwhelmingly in local election. Starmer response? We need to move faster and further to the right on immigration. Sigh.
- Just found this on my internal Imperial College profile page. Yeah, some may say that it was a bit precocious to publish my first paper at age 6, but to them I say: you're just jealous of how many I published when I was 8.
- Good article. Worth noting that almost everything Monbiot writes about the BBC also applies to the Guardian, which has drifted very much to the right in my lifetime.
