- People of all different backgrounds and walks of life - from the poverty-stricken hills of Appalachia to the ivory tower of Yale Law School to the very College of Cardinals in Rome - can agree that JD Vance is a gaping asshole.
- US scientists are not going to make vaccines anymore. Instead they are building a digital Hell.
- You and me, we gonna live forever… as avatars, at least. New ‘grief tech’ apps allow grieving families to communicate with dead relatives via an AI afterlife. ✍️ @paticlarke.bsky.social Read more:

- The Internet is basically The Warp from 40k - essential infrastructure that seethes with demons, insanity, and corruption.

- There is a non-zero chance that the Secretary of Health and Human Services will contract rabies. Kind of like a lottery ticket, low-probability but amazing if it happens.
- Reposted by Max D. StantonHappy Hitler Shoots Himself In The Head day to all who celebrate. The 80th anniversary. May his ignominious end, with his body doused in petrol and burned by his last remaining loyalists, be a model for all tyrants.
- Reposted by Max D. StantonSo just to recap, the Transportation Secretary is scared shitless of public transport. The Education Secretary is being sued for enabling child sex abuse. The Health Secretary is bringing back measles. And the Defense Secretary is texting classified war plans to the editor in chief of the Atlantic
- When I was writing my dystopian zombie novel I tried to brainstorm a bunch of things that a government totally inimical to human life would do, and now it's all coming true.

- The dry pepper tofu from Chili Szechuan in West Philly...perfectly spiced and crispy, addictive and satisfying. Great pairing with a creamy, sweet-but-not-too-sweet taro smoothie. When it was good it was great but then they changed the recipe and then they vanished entirely, as all things do. Selah.

- Reposted by Max D. StantonNEW BLOG POST! You asked for it, and it is here; today we're looking at US attitudes and policy towards Nazi Germany prior to WWII, and why so many pop-leftist narratives of this era now feel the need to distort it.

- Reposted by Max D. StantonColumbia’s cave-in, Cuomo’s polling, the top-to-bottom corruption of Adams’ mayoralty: a good post earlier talked about the collapse of civic virtue in the U.S., but it’s worth suggesting that there’s something lacking regarding civic virtue and civil society in New York _specifically_.
- Trying to think positive thoughts about the future, like Vir Cotto on Babylon 5.
- Americans now have fewer rights than the defendants in the Salem Witch Trials. People accused of witchcraft got trials - unfair, insane trials, but there was *some* sort of process to justify punishment. But we can get shipped off to El Salvador for any reason or no reason at all. True despotism.

- The couple pictured has been profiled in the Washington Post, The Guardian, the Wall Street Journal, the Philadelphia Inquirer, CBC News, Business Insider, Bloomberg, and more, and I am BEGGING the media to stop forcing this pair of repulsive and unremarkable dullards upon us.
- It would appear CNN was also at the eugenics conference? Why are all these mainstream news orgs at a 200-person event where all the speakers are eugenicists and racists? www.cnn.com/2025/04/11/u...

- This man should not be in charge of public health, or indeed, anything at all.
- The U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services has repeatedly claimed: “If you’re healthy, it’s almost impossible to die from an infectious disease in modern times.” That is dangerously false. www.medscape.com/viewarticle/...
- Wake in Fright is an absolute feel-bad banger, with a ferocious performance by Donald Pleasance. Sometimes around the holidays I'll do an Australian Christmas Hell double feature of it together with The Proposition. RIP Ted.
- Why is there so much money going into AI? Because the bosses see it as the greatest advance in the technology of tyranny since the invention of the whip.
