- Did my one thing today and wrote to my senator in support of trans rights, and reminding her that these “culture war” things are a big old distraction from the GOP’s efforts to disassemble and defund the federal government, including Medicaid and the VA.
- I mean, I've cried at Staples commercials.
- Performance evaluations are now all drafted! WOO! Now comes the meetings and the submission process. :crosses off list:

- I have reached the time of year when I'm happy when it rains, because it means I don't have to water all the annuals I just planted.

- It is once again time for Annuals Thunderdome! LET US SEE WHO WILL SURVIVE!
- Today’s plan is Annual Plant Thunderdome aka the closest to gardening I am willing to come because it is low on the manual labor end of the scale and I get flowers out of whatever survives.
- Generally speaking, being kind takes way less energy than being an asshole. It also tends to lead to being surrounded by kind people rather than assholes overall. NB: kindness does NOT mean putting up with assholes.
- We rented Gambit (2012) with Colin Firth & Alan Rickman last night. Art heist film written by the Coen Brothers. The first 1/3 is a bit rough but when it heads to straight farce it is fucking delightful. Mostly kicking myself that I completely missed it the first time around.
- Just because I am not surprised does not mean I'm not angry. Carla Hayden, like every other *actually qualified federal worker* that has been shamefully treated in this unconscionable manner deserves better. www.npr.org/2025/05/09/g...
- Reading “After Disruption” and have made it to the portion of the festivities where I am nodding hard and saying YES THAT. A lot.
