- "We are aware that many scientists seem to be putting funding and immediate job security ahead of civil liberties and academic autonomy." 🤬
- The joy of public art ❤️
- In case you missed it - last week they had the F1 drivers race giant lego cars for one lap and mayhem ensued. Some of the best racing drivers on the planet giggling like schoolboys as they race (and wreck) the cars 🤣 youtu.be/pdxiNBwxYxU?...
- Today is commencement at Vanderbilt which reminded me of all the great undergraduate science education we were able to offer with the support of my now cancelled NSF grant -Twice my undergraduate seminar on misinformation collaboratively designed & ran experiments testing ideas from the course 1/
- This is exactly what my software developer husband is worried about. AI is a great tool for him to use as a senior developer but jr developers don't yet know enough to use it well and where will the senior developers come from if there's no pipeline of junior folks and no one is developing expertise
- I spend a lot of time disparaging those who are failing us in this moment - but today I want to shine a light on all of those who are helping to make the threats to science and universities legible for other scientists and the public🧪 1/
- The importance of science and research
- Just finished grading my favorite final assignment - the learning from teaching project inspired by @hakeemjefferson.bsky.social Some favorites this year from my social cognition course: A podcast on the role of confirmation bias and anchoring in their search for a new apartment 1/

- "The best version of Facebook is one that still emphasizes the social graph. People you know (or, at least, people you once knew) sharing pictures of their kids and updates on their lives." - this version was great and allowed us to keep real friendships, but it didn't provide endless profit 🙄
- Have been moving full steam ahead and trying to take action since the first round of NSF grant cancellations hit on April 18th and I just finally broke down in front of our dean of research when talking about the early career researchers affected by these terminations 😭
- A good summary of the recent grant cancellations and their impact
- Trump’s team, often accused of spreading misinformation, slashes misinformation research www.science.org/content/arti... by @kakape.bsky.social Reality: Misinformation research is NOT about censorship. It is about understanding one of the most complex & harmful phenomena of our time.
- So excited that this project is now in press!! Tess was one of my very first research assistants at Vanderbilt and collected the data for her honors thesis. Huge thanks to Jisun, @gilliangrose.bsky.social and @cbhornburg.bsky.social for coming on board and leading the project across the finish line.
- "In the face of repeated violations of academic freedom and attempts to undermine institutional autonomy from political influence, many institutions’ responses have been the equivalent of a blank stare."
- Just being ridiculously cute
- Yay Cristina and Wendy!! Love when other people recognize the greatness of my colleagues ❤️
