The Finnish regard homelessness as a human rights issue.
Finland is rated the happiest country in the world, year after year. Their educational system is one of the best in the world.
Other countries among the highest rated for happiness are Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.

My neighbor works in Santa Clara county homeless social services. He was an eye opener.
In Silicon Valley, about 75% of homeless have serious mental illness and refuse to stay in housing provided.
They need residential mental health facilities.
... This is a statewide problem in California.
Homeless, mentally ill who refuse housing are reported, picked up by police, held overnight then released... again and again.
California must rebuild a residential mental health care system to properly house this unaddressed homeless population.
But Finland is governed by sane people. See the difference?
Our GOP would not have anything to do with that wonderful humane idea.
THIS is what taxing the 1% could provide for the US!!! Or just taxing churches and obscenely rich ‘pastors’.

I so desperately wish that could be done in the us. Homelessness is such a sadness and scourage. We have the ability and resources, but the will seems to be lacking.

There are communities in the US working to end homelessness and they do not get enough credit for the progress they have made by partnering with organizations like Community Solutions
