- I've arrived at Manchester Museum and of course the first order of business is a pilgrimage two of the world's fattest #platypuses. Absolute chonkbeasts. #fattypus #taxidermy #platypus
- With my first children's book WILD coming out tomorrow, I wrote this blog about spotting patterns in nature, encouraging kids to question why some animals share the same features (like why do #penguins, orcas and squirrels all have dark backs and light bellies?). 🐧🐋🐿️ peters.co.uk/news-page/en...
- Specimens in #museums tell both scientific & human stories. Scientifically this individual #bee at @nhm-london.bsky.social was used to describe a new species. Socially, the bee was collected on the Younghusband Expedition, when Britain invaded Tibet and killed 2-3000 people in 1903-4. #NaturesMemory

- Reposted by Jack AshbyFascinating discussion @jackdashby.bsky.social & Rebacca Kilner @zoologymuseum.bsky.social 🐳 on his new book 'Nature's Memory' 🙂 Thought provoking talk on our bias on what and how we display our Natural History #Museums 🤔 Another #book on my 'to be read' list 📖 #heritage #nature #History #discovery
