    Today, I found a 7-spot ladybird that has been 'zombified' by a parasitic wasp. The wasp larva is in the silk cocoon beneath the ladybird. A wasp laid an egg in the ladybird; it hatched and ate the ladybird's insides. Ready to pupate, it emerged, spun a cocoon and now the ladybird stands guard.
