Staffer: Then a marriage certificate.
Me: Will my husband need the marriage certificate too?

If you have a Republican senator and want them to vote against the save act, tell them you're worried it will undermine traditional family values by encouraging women to keep their maiden names at marriage. They care more about keeping patriarchy alive and well than protecting women's rights.
Unbelievable! And, what they don't realize is that this will probably affect potential MAGA voters more than it will the general population.

There's no problem in their minds. Women have pretty consistently voted against the fascist regime. The whole point of this act is to prevent women from voting without having to repeal an amendment.

Their bill does not list marriage certicate as an acceptable firm of proof.
What i find comical is how many married women in congress voted for this not seeing your obvious point.
Given how voter fraud is not an issue, and only repubs have actually been caught doing it, I think how we've been doing things is just fine.

Not a fan of the save, but I don’t get your point here. Wouldn’t his name match his birth certificate? Why would he need the marriage license then? If he is the one changing his name then he would need it to show that.

You should have asked him how the SAVE Act does not violate the 19th Amendment: “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.” If men don’t have to provide the same documentation, it’s gender discrimination
Our current Vice President is now using a name that doesn't match the one on his birth certificate, but somehow, I doubt anybody is going to block him from a polling place.
I need to get my real id, but can't find my marriage certificate. It'll be 3 months and almost $60.
