- Reposted by Paul RohrIf we still had the rule of law, this DOGE bro would be prosecuted. I spoke w/ @propublica.org about the DOGE bro who helped fire CFPB’s staff even after ethics lawyers warned he must divest: showing that his violation of the criminal conflict of interest statute was willful rather than negligent.
- DOGE guy at the CFPB owned verboten stocks. He was explicitly warned by ethics lawyers that he wasn’t permitted to take any action that could benefit those companies — and him. He then helped fire workers anyway. Including the ethics lawyers who warned him. www.propublica.org/article/cfpb...

- The most elegant thing about this little Ruby library is how it's driven by a single massive config file (shorteners.txt) Kudos to Avner Cohen for that 2016 contribution!
- The full list of the shortening services we support can be found here: github.com/altmetric/em... All are supported since April 30th. Have yourselves a delightful day, and shortlink away. Hey that rhymes. I AM SHAKESPEARE
- Reposted by Paul RohrThe term 'rune' for a Unicode code point was coined by Ken Thompson during a discussion we had to find a concise name to supplement 'char' for bytes. The Plan 9 C source files /sys/src/libc/port/*rune* appeared in the daily backup on Dec 9, 1991, so the name was coined on the evening of the 8th.
