This is what be a rational human-being means, a group of people working together to be entirely altruistic to a creature in difficulty that has no real inkling of what is being done to help it, won’t usually thank them and will entirely forget about what happened, and the humans will feel good.

It's adorable and everything, but not to be a downer (heh heh) the ducklings would probably have been fine anyway. Many species nest high up to avoid predators, and a duckling's terminal velocity is very low. Mama isn't stupid; she nested there on purpose. toughlittlebirds.com/2014/05/19/d...

They would made it by them selves,their quite hardy and soft, and will bounce, seen ducklings jump from higher heights
