- Reposted by MrsThraleIf we abandon unions then we have no chance of making them work for women. And if unions abandon women, they will never be the force for equality and justice they imagine themselves to be. /4
- Reposted by MrsThraleWe are the majority of the membership. Unions are an important part of our political/social structures and, when true to their principles, are a powerful force for good. The fight against women’s oppression is far from over. /3
- Reposted by MrsThraleThere are calls for women to walk away and that is understandable. Some women have already gone. But there is also a determination from others to stay and fight for a movement that women were at the centre of building. I'm for staying and fighting. /2
- Reposted by MrsThraleThe negative reaction of some trade unions to Supreme Court judgment upholding women's rights in the EA2010 is a disgraceful betrayal of their female members. Trade union history of fighting for women’s rights will stand for nothing if they organise against our sex-based rights in the present. /1
- Reposted by MrsThrale“As an older woman, I can live with their condemnation because whatever I am, I am. There’s nothing they have that I need." Excellent, with @johannlamont.bsky.social #SexMatters #Scotland #WomenWhoWouldntWheesht www.heraldscotland.com/news/2515419...
- Reposted by MrsThraleThis is a grevious case of disability and belief discrimination. THIS is why we need single sex spaces, because women are abused if they ask why a man is in a women's team.
- www.bbc.co.uk/sport/footba... Despite the sad men question, this is a great interview. FA need to apologise.
- Reposted by MrsThrale"I saw that one of the players [was] what I thought was a man, so ... I asked, 'Are you a man?" "I assumed it would be a women's game, and that's why I was confused because I thought they'd brought a mixed team with them". This 17 year old was then given a 6 game ban. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/footba...
- Reposted by MrsThraleAll these 'trans athletes' are actually males, smashing it in female sport. Equality washing patriarchy. www.outsports.com/2024/12/6/22...
- Reposted by MrsThraleWomen have a right to the cricket they created. Apparently, first women's game recorded was in 1745. Women are also entitled to their sporting histories. Women established a broader variety of sporting organisations after 1918. Leave women alone!
- Reposted by MrsThraleAfter WWI women fought to be allowed to play. Women were then banned from playing football by FA in 1921. It took years to establish again. Leave women alone! Stop ignoring our struggles and sporting histories to have our own sports by dismissing this decision as wrong.
- Reposted by MrsThraleI'm weary of toilet obsession. Women need single-sex refuges, hostels, hospital wards, rape crisis centres, prisons, shelters, care for safety, dignity and privacy and all women shortlists, political organisations, sports for equality. It's simple. www-bbc-co-uk.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.bbc....
- Reposted by MrsThraleIt's been quite the male rights activist heist to pretend that campaigning for the retention of women's lawful rights to single sex services, provisions & sports when sex matters is somehow 'bigotry'. Luckily, its been rumbled. Not by listening to women campaigners ofc. By the Supreme Court.
- Reposted by MrsThraleRecognising women and girls need single sex spaces and services, for safety, privacy and dignity, isn't 'bigotry'. Defending women's single sex sports and opportunities isn't 'bigotry' either. Dismissing women's and girls' needs as 'bigotry' is definitely misogyny, though.
- Reposted by MrsThraleAs such, the SWP is neither a socialist nor a workers' party. It's just an ugly gaggle of misogynists.
- Reposted by MrsThraleI suspect many of those in the arts, currently misrepresenting the Supreme Court decision and sharing condescending anecdotes about trans identifying men, are unaware, or don't care, about working class women in prisons, refuges, hostels, etc, and Equality Act. As such, it's very much a class issue.
- Reposted by MrsThraleAll men should stay out of women's hostels, refuges, rape crisis centres, etc, so that the bad ones have to. Romanticising of trans women is condescending. There are many men I've not been scared around but I have been intimidated by trans identifying men. It's about safeguarding not twee anecdotes.
- Reposted by MrsThraleThe absolute gall of the man. Gender identity ideology is 21C S28. David wants to erase same-sex attraction & over-write it with same-'gender' attraction. So heterosexual males with trans identities can call themselves lesbians & call lesbians sexual racists. No no & no. Women said no.

- Reposted by MrsThraleI never thought (in Jan 2017) this would end up being the issue that gets me more irate than any other. But I really really can't stand bullies. Or postmodernism. I've despaired at how the Left (the men in particular) abandoned women. Fantastic last Observer column from @sonia-sodha.bsky.social
- Reposted by MrsThraleRight now a lot of people need to change their mind about the protected characteristic of sex. The legal accepted wisdom was wrong. Naomi Cunningham wrote about changing her mind on this in 2022 after some late night debates... sex-matters.org/posts/update...
- Reposted by MrsThraleAn era of magical thinking comes to an end and vindication is a dish to be enjoyed at any temperature. So three cheers for the ladies of For Women Scotland. www.thetimes.com/article/d5f2...
- Reposted by MrsThraleIf that's REALLY such a concern for you, then go out and rally for trans prisons instead of trying to keep dumping stuff on women. Fight for trans prisons if you're really THAT concerned for transwomen's safety. Stop pretending transwomen have no rights or are "genocided" www.bbc.com/news/uk-4743...
- Reposted by MrsThraleMen can campaign for different prisons for some men if they want. It's not womens job to deal with.
- Reposted by MrsThraleToday's UK Supreme Court ruling has made me VERY happy. It's also allowed me to see people here who seem to have wilfully remained ignorant about what the ACTUAL issue has been. It has ALWAYS been about protecting women's rights. If you don't support that, well... bye, I guess...?
- Reposted by MrsThraleBig love to For Women Scotland, and huge admiration for their tenacity. Decision of the Supreme Court here: www.supremecourt.uk/cases/uksc-2...
- Congratulations and thank you to #ForWomenScotland for all their hard work on getting us to this point. Thank you to all the women over the last decade who have persisted. #RightSideOfHistory #WeKnowWhatAWomanIs #SupremeCourt

- Reposted by MrsThraleAs an aside, this must rank as one of the biggest campaigning misfires in all of history. A decade of “no platform”, ostracising, abuse etc to gender-critical feminists in the service of self-ID… has resulted in the law becoming *more* aligned with the GC position.
