- This afternoon’s focus is on @neurokim.bsky.social, research scientist at Google DeepMind and affiliate faculty at Columbia—someone that has done tremendously creative work applying computational thinking to both neuroscience and deep learning.
- Kim completed their PhD at @princetonneuro.bsky.social under Matthew Botvinick, focusing on the computational role of predictive representations in the hippocampus. Since then she has published widely, on successor representations, physical simulations and graph NNs, symbolic models, and more!
- Their work has appeared in The Atlantic, Quanta, Nautilus, and MIT Technology Review, and in 2019, they were named an MIT Tech Review Innovator Under 35. Kim will give a keynote talk on neural theory day of our upcoming conference on the Mathematics of #Neuroscience and #AI in Split, Croatia.May 7, 2025 16:04
