- One of the problems with self-help is that a lot of solutions focus on individuality and self-soothing. Sometimes it works, but during times of great strife, inward perspectives don't cut it. Here is how we should be handling those times. medium.com/@ericsburdon... #writing #medium #selfhelp

- Reposted by Eric S BurdonWhen I was a teen, my folks discovered the Food Network and became foodie types. I watched it along with them. I helped them make "gourmet" meals all the time. They taught me a lot. Mostly that I was capable of doing very interesting dishes if I chose to, and to not freak out about complex recipes.
- We had one of these in town and I loved the buffet. Whenever we dined out, I always asked to go to this place. It sucks the restaurant closed down by the time I was like 10 or 11.

- I could go with some Tiki Masala if I wanted something simple. For something more complex, I'd go with the dish I mentioned earlier - almond-crusted chicken with sweet potato mash and zesty brussel sprouts (or veggies if they're not big into brussel sprouts).
- Bread. I would love to be making bread again but with work I can't exactly spend my entire day making it. That and the kitchen we have is so small it's bad for bread-making.
