- A genre-blending tour de force, Esperance is a police procedural with a sci-fi twist! I really enjoyed how it managed to blend a snappy detective story with deeper themes of generational and historical trauma. youtu.be/lS2a60Bb5A4 #Booksky #BookReview #Esperance
- You can love something and be critical of it, which is why I'm utterly annoyed at Andor for including one of the most tired tropes in the world 🙄 (but I'll still watch all the SW stuff that gets produced)
- A wondrous, powerhouse of a novella that is as rich in its prose and purpose as it is beautiful. #BookReview youtu.be/FM57qIjgNJE
- Whew. Profound relief.
- Voted about half an hour ago so a) I didn't have to wait all day in anticipation of the results and b) so we could bring the kids and show them the process (not like they paid attention). I'm sad it's over as I really am loving all the election podcasts! #cdnpoli
- Absolutely loved this genre-blending sci-fi fantasy western that features surreal monsters and haunting and mesmerizing prose. 5/5! #BookReview #TheCountryUnderHeaven youtu.be/eYGV0-Yyr8s
- There needs to be a balance between the yolo and the fomo
- The only thing I really liked about being pregnant was the wild dreams (and my dreams were already pretty intense). Recently, my naturopath suggested I take magnesium, and the dreams are back! I actually look forward to sleeping now, instead of pushing it off until the last possible second.
- Another book review, this one of horror-fantasy The Grand Hotel, which is a blend of Labyrinth and 1920s glam. It's a fun, creepy, and unique book! #BelowtheGrandHotel #BookReview youtu.be/9gX15vd6LvI
- No one needs 12 copies of the same book, regardless of whether they are all different editions. I mention this lunacy at the start of my review of the incredible The Tusks of Extinction, as well as a few other tips. It's Earth Day! youtu.be/GYTxUUxsBno #TheTusksofExtinction #bookReview
- #debate2025 #cndpoli My 7 year old came down while we were watching. Her thoughts? "I hate this show." 🤣
- #Cdnpoli #2025debte Given there's only dudes here, it would've been nice to see a woman moderator. Or will there be multiple?
- Looking for some unique Canadian fiction featuring the gold rush, mysticism, and a giant floating ear? 4/5 stars for this wild feverdream of a novel! #bookreview youtu.be/sL7Wi7b4e2A
- Multiverse without the wacky stuff! I Contain Multitudes is a tightly wrought book that gets tighter and tighter as the story moves along. If you enjoy contemplative sci-fi with a psychological bent, you should check this out. #Icontainmultitiudes #bookreview youtu.be/9Smf7BhNMOU
- Some lady yelled at me for walking in front of the Tim's drive-thru exit lane (there is no other way to go). She was losing it so I slowly flipped her off, then told her to maybe consider going into the store for a change instead of being a lazy asshole. She didn't like that for some reason. 🤔
- My partner adores working on cars, so it's been years since I've had to do any real work on mine. My tire was low though, so I got out the compressed air, filled it to the appropriate psi, sat back proud I remembered the steps, and dropped the value tip inside the wheel. Sigh.
- A lush and immersive experience, this novella is packed with beautiful descriptions, a lovely sapphic romance, and very interesting world-building. Loved it! youtu.be/3dMi4UpkByg #BrighterThanScaleSwifterThanFlame
- I just love it when I can give a super positive review about a fellow indie author! 5/5 stars for Scurry! youtu.be/-hGog5yKy_o @seannb.bsky.social
- I coughed too hard from my sinus infection which pinched a nerve in my neck which led to half my face going numb, intense vertigo, and two days of pain. Clearly, I'm turning 40 this year.
- As a kid I used to think if I had 3 wishes it'd be to have tons of $, to fly, and to live forever. Now I'd just wish to never get sick, to never have insomnia, and for the end of fascism, consumerism, and environmental destruction. Little things, you know.
- Just in case you didn't know, if you type -ai after a search in Google it'll stop it from using its AI results (thus saving a little bit of energy).
- Intense, emotional, and immersive! But what else can you expect from Stephen Graham Jones? youtu.be/_pH4UpdlN-k
- There's nothing like the day after you finally get over a bad cold.
- I love "classic" sci-fi (for me, anything older than the 80s), but also doing critical deep dives on them. But this one from the 70s ... is more progressive in many ways than certain countries are today. I was shocked and delighted. And very enthusiastic! youtu.be/8xv8iqAGtFY
- This is the only time of year I enjoy opening the door to solicitors - because I'm hoping it'll be reps for the election candidate I'm absolutely against so I can list off for them all the reasons I'm not voting for that idiot.
- Today I learned I'm weird for not watching TV between Sun - Thursday. I didn't assume no one did that, but everyone looked at me like I was an alien when I asked how they'd all watched a Sunday release show already. Now I'm curious as to others' tv habits!
