View full threadThose portable barbecues should be banned as well. I fear that the weather will bring out more of these arsonists ☹️
- Absolutely!! Years ago!!! You can’t just rely on the public to take notice of signs that say “no bbq’s”, cos the public ignores them.
- The Peak District has already had 2 or 3 moor fires so God knows what the summer will bring if it doesn't rain. And a lot of the little streams around here have all dried up!
- A number down here on lowland heath that were arson. Fires in the Cairngorms and the West County 😢 I don’t understand the mentality of the people who start these fires!
- A set of images following up on my image yesterday of Tarlair cafe. The first 2 are from 2022 and the reat from last week. More in the comments. An amazing transformation I believe from a volunteer group of locals FYI @sarahlonges.bsky.social

- Cheers Colin 🙏🏻 It’s definitely peaked my interest!!
- A few people have asked to see the colour version of my #london composition last week and #sharemondays2025 seemed like the perfect excuse. I still can’t take my eye off that #curve 😁 — #photography #urbanphotography

- My pleasure Giles 😁
- Unfortunately the swimming pools are still closed.
- Oh that’s a shame! It’s such a unique spot, I could see it being very popular.
- March - Reflections & refractions Had seen some chicks on my run so on the way home from swimming lessons figured I would take the little ones to see, youngest spottest this Goosander? with a bunch of chicks hitching a ride along Kelvin walkway (Glasgow). #FSprintmondays #Sharemondays2025

View full threadIt was a very nice surprise, she could get a whole bunch on her back and they were so fast darting around the place.
- I’m always quite amazed at how many young grebes are able to carry on their backs but mergansers and goosanders take it to the next level 🤭 I see them down south during the winter and they really do move fast!!!
- Kenmure Street was 4 years ago and a day I still think about a lot, especially seeing the front pages recently. The *entire* debate about immigration is based on a fundamental lie that immigrants cost money, in reality they contribute an outsized portion to our economy that we depend heavily on.
- Farage (a city trader), Tories, media and Starmer are lying about the economic reality of immigration because it helps them maintain power and wealth. It's all just someone to blame for the problems they create. Things would get a whole lot better for everyone quickly if we all accepted that
- I’m beyond disappointed in Starmer trying to appease the sections of society that have fallen for the lies about immigration 😞 I have social care and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate my carers who’ve come from overseas! Agencies find it nigh on impossible to recruit UK residents.
- It’s really fabulous! A rather unique place to go swimming, which I hope does still happen. Is the pool created from an old quarry lake? Such amazing surroundings too 😍
- WASTWATER SKYFIRE Such an incredible dawn at Wastwater in the Lake District yesterday morning. This is a shot I have been after for a while so pleased it finally happened. #wastwater #lakedistrictnationalpark #sharemondays2025 @sonyalpha.bsky.social @fotospeed.bsky.social

View full threadThanks Sarah - I think the bluebells up here are always a bit later than down south
- Absolutely my pleasure 😁 They are indeed, but we’ve definitely not had the best season for them here.

View full threadMust admit, it's not what I'd have expected as owl behaviour!
- Even with wildlife in the park being more habituated to the presence of people, it’s still very unexpected!!
- But what a privilege when a bird/animal feels sufficiently comfortable with your presence and lets you spend a bit of time near them 😃
- It’s the most incredible privilege 😊 Most wildlife just wants us to give them space and stay low and still. It’s always easier to have encounters in managed parkland as the wildlife is more habituated to the presence of people, but you still need to be respectful of them.
- Thank you 🤗🙏 First time trying to shoot it and only because the area has (unfortunately) dried up 👍
- Oh I know all about the dryness 😱 It’s just shocking seeing so much of the landscape looking like it does in late summer than it should in spring!!! It’s sad seeing news about wildfires already.
- I'd never seen one before, it was amazing. He definitely knows he's an attraction 😂
- Even a lot of regular visitors to locations with little owls have never seen one as they’re so good at hiding!! His behaviour is quite unusual compared to the other little owls which is such a treat for us all. One thing that has always made me laugh about them is that they love to sunbathe 🤭
- A balletic mayfly from yesterday's great SheClicks meet-up in Bushy Park 😊 #Sharemondays2025

View full threadI love Teresa's shot too - looks like it's doing gymnastics 😀
- Doesn’t it just 😂 They were really getting thrown around by the breeze on their stems!!! Her determination to get it as it was positioned looking over the blade at her paid off! I still need to download all of mine and must post the group shots which I really love 😊 Stephen was the perfect tripod 🤭
- I bet you're there for hours! Magical 😊
- I have been 😂 Sometimes taking photos of them perched up and then just sitting and enjoying how calming and beautiful the whole scene is 😊
- So beautiful!
- Thanks Jill 🙏🏻 He’s a little star 😁 I actually got this during the week when I was checking different angles from where we could watch him. Every angle brings a different story to his one pose! Can’t believe how blessed we are to see him 😊
- Thanks Sarah 😊 The best bit was seeing them all caught in the sunlight, looked like they were on tiny strings going up and down
- Absolutely my pleasure 😁 Exactly my favourite thing about them too 😁 And that area of grass gets the afternoon sun perfectly! Every year I sit there mesmerised by the sight 😊
- Great image Sarah 👌
- Cheers Ron 🙏🏻 This owl is a real star!! Just a brilliant character and loves to get some sunshine on his favourite perches 😁

View full threadThanks Sarah 🙂 it was special while it lasted.
- Absolutely my pleasure 😁 Encounters like that are very precious!
- A master of disguise 🦉
- They really are 😁 Partly because they stay incredibly still for long periods of time!! Even when they are in the midst of rich green foliage they are brilliant at remaining unseen 🤭 We have several in the park that aren’t afraid to show their disapproval if they realise you’re watching them 😉

View full threadIt is now a beautiful refurbished building. I will post some other shots tomorrow including one from a couple of years past when it was derelict.
- It’s really wonderful when places are brought back from a state of dereliction to their full glory 😁
-
View full threadOh sorry I didn’t know that.
- I realised and thought you’d want to make sure you got an image considered 😊
- Beautiful 😍 I love seeing it but can never manage to capture its beauty quite like this!
- Love the hint of sunburst in the bokeh 😊
- Wonderful tones 😊
- Fabulous sight 😁
- This is stunning Paula 😍 Love the translucency of the petals!
- A real beauty 😍
- Ooh that’s gorgeous 😍 Our bluebells are almost all gone over now 😞 It’s so dry down here but also the foliage on the trees came through really fast this spring!
- Super stylish and I really like it in colour as the wood has great tones 😁
- What a gorgeous moment 🥰
- I love how the mood you’ve created with the ICM is so completely opposite to the recent weather conditions!!
- Loving all the spring floral entries to the challenges but you can only submit one to Sharemondays so you’ll need to make a choice and delete the others.
- Oh how wonderful 😍 I’ve always wanted to see the goosanders during breeding just to see this very sight!!!
- I hope they see this to admire their choice of colour for the seating as it looks great 😁
- From a wonderful walk last week in Ty Canol, one of two ancient oak woodlands we are so lucky to have on our doorstep 🤍 #sharemondays2025 #thephotohour #oak #oaktree #classicmono #minimalmonday #eastcoastkin #art #artyear #photography #blackandwhite #trees #woodland #nature #pembrokeshire
- I adore ancient oaks as they’re entire ecosystems of their own 😁 Usually where I find kestrels, owls and woodpeckers! Also master trees for some amazing butterflies like the purple emperor 😊
- Oh it is fabulous 😁 The composition with the diagonal of the blade of grass works really well! I’m glad you and Teresa summoned the energy to go and find the mayflies with me. I just love watching them dance 🥰
- What a great location!! Those stones are fabulous 😁
- So rewarding when you find a perfect flower in your garden. #clematis #lovegardening #Derbyshire #Canon6DMarkII @photohour.bsky.social #loveukweather #appicoftheweek #fsprintmonday #ShareMondays2025
- That is a beauty 😍
- Spiderlings for #Sharemondays2025 These took up residence on our car at the weekend and were so tiny (they moved on before we needed the car). Probably not zoologically correct, but I image them going "wheee!" as they slid down the web strands their Mum (carefully watching over them) had spun 😀
-
View full threadMust admit, I did wonder whether the remaining ones had survived or been gobbled 😬

- Oh I don’t blame you 😁
- Oops!! When we first spotted them they may have been disturbed as a lot were zooming about, then later they were all back together, each curled into a little ball. Next day they were already dispersing, there were only about half as many and later they'd all moved on. Really amazing to see them
- Oh bless them!! I suppose that’s the natural response to the possible presence of a predator. There are a lot of busy birds feeding newly hatched chicks right now after all!
- Concealment #ShareMondays2025 This #treecreeper & it's mate were very busy bringing food back to their cleverly concealed #nest on Friday in #BushyPark 😊 #nature #wildlife #birding @rspb.bsky.social @ldnwildlifetrust.bsky.social #fujifilm_uk @sheclicksnet.bsky.social @theroyalparks.bsky.social
- They are lovely aren't they! Saw one yesterday. Lovely image Sarah.
- Cheers Em 🙏🏻 They’ve fascinated me for years! Took me a long time to get a decent photo of one after I started using digital photography 🤭 They’re so fast!! There’s a good population of them in Bushy Park with so many veteran trees and deadwood around 😁

- Absolutely my pleasure 😁 Always wonderful to see a hare, but in such dense dandelion clocks is a bit of extra magic!
- Amazing, I don't think I've ever seen one of these. 🙂
- Thanks Geraldine 🙏🏻 They are tiny and masters of disguise!! I spent years and years trying to get decent photos of them. They were pretty much my nemesis bird for ages 🤭 They always climb up trees so I scan for the movement in woodland areas.
- 😂 Guess I should have posted with a health warning! They were so tiny - looked like moss on the car at first
- I’m ok, I actually like spiders, but I’ve accidentally upset my sister a few times by sharing a photo of a cool spider I’ve seen in our family messenger group 🤭 It’s fascinating watching tiny spiderlings disperse 😁
