- My friend from Yellowknife and I usually opt for somewhere in California to get together every year (her choice, mainly climate is a contrast to where she lives 😀). This year we opted for Saskatchewan instead. Less potential border hassle & looking forward to exploring more of our own country! 🇨🇦
- To those thinking of sending me books: Please contact me first! Finding some books coming from the U.S. are taking a loooooong time (possibly held up at the border). Some don't reach me at all.
- If you post images, please use alt-text. Not only does it help visually impaired who use screen readers, but also the neurodivergent, helps your post get discovered, can be translated, will be seen instead of unloaded images if Internet's super-slow, much more. publish.obsidian.md/debbieohi/al...
- Thx @wanderlingworld.bsky.social for clarifying what "hidden hashtags" are. It would be GREAT if feeds were able to find these. Some people would be less likely to cram so many hashtags into posts. I know it's for discoverability, but always looks so spammy to me (I avoid sharing those posts).
- If you use deck.blue you can add hidden hashtags. People searching for your tag will still find your posts, they just don't clutter up your posting text. But right now only one feed creator supports feeds finding hidden hashtags. So that majorly decentivises us from using this feature until then.

- Avoid using AI to help with your fiction writing, if you want to stand out. Apart from the copyright issues, using ChatGPT to write/edit can not only become a crutch, but it skews you toward the average. Most publishers aren't looking for "average." Your biggest strength is your unique voice.
