- This came up in a sad/funny context in a post about a sovcit telling someone to put all zeroes on their TD1 forms for the employer. This isn't actually harmful to anyone but the taxpayer. Let me explain.
- One way, if you were trying to signal your core constituency that you're not gonna stop the raging housing market, would be to put Gregor Robertson in charge of building enough housing and also say we're gonna be hands off with our ministers. I'm just saying!
- I guess I still don't see what the problem is. If people don't want to learn (at university? boy oh boy most of them sure don't!) that is a them problem; if people are faking the work you've set them and you have to evaluate it, that is indeed *your* problem.
- I don't know. Joe Biden copied off other people for his entire time in tertiary education and would not have made it through otherwise. His fine, sharp, searing intellect so impresses Americans he became President of the United States. Maybe copying off someone else *is* a learning style!
- Heh heh heh I will revise my previously clearly stated position on the Order of Canada: it now *is* good for something beyond a list of who is an official goody good boy for the state. It's good for pissing off the kind of people who throw "treason" around like a dusting of flour.
- Oh no. Oh NO NO NO NO NO NO NO DO NOT ANNOUNCE A BUDGET IN OLD SHOES I'm not a superstitious person but every time someone tries to be clever and says "I'm not buying new shoes!" it becomes a hilarious disaster.
- I think a lot about Matty and McGraw (and Mrs. McGraw) sharing that apartment in midtown. No wonder McGraw moved out to the suburbs when the Black Sox scandal blew.
