- So: today Parliament sits 2.30-10.30pm (this sounds insane but my Scottish colleagues need to travel down hence the hours). I am on a delegated legislation committee on medical equipment, seeing the food and drink manufacturing sector, attending a briefing on the spending review and going to PLP
- Still crossing everything. Today am hoping to speak in Westminster Hall on the automotive industry, and am hosting a couple of auto supply chain businesses from Tipton, Wednesbury and Coseley for the business select committee roundtable on the auto supply chain later today
- UK closes in on US trade pact with lower tariff *quotas* for cars and steel — lowering the 25% headline tariff is still a hope (but I’m told tough) and US still pushing hard on agri & pharma issues. Scoop with @pickardje.bsky.social @financialtimes.com on.ft.com/3RR7UMw
