- Stat of the day: 19 pitchers in MLB history have had multiple career starts with a negative game score. Tanner Houck of the Red Sox just did it twice in 28 days. Only 3 other pitchers have done it twice in the same season: Colby Lewis, 2015; Jason Marquis, 2006; Jaime Navarro, 1997.

- The Padres scored 34 runs on the Rockies over the past two days. The last time a team scored 34 or more runs in a two-game span was the Cubs in 2023. It's only happened 14 times since 2000. (In 2003, the Red Sox scored 34 over two games and lost one of them! Won 25-8, lost 10-9.)
- Red Sox stat of the day. It feels like Jarren Duran keeps crushing the ball into outs this season so I looked it up. He's tied (w/ Aaron Judge) for 10th in hard hit balls. But of the top 30 players in hard hit he's 24th in hits, 27th in avg, 29th in wOBA. Feels like it should even out.
